This charming bathroom was featured in one of the many magazines we subscribe to here at Le Barn. My eye was immediately drawn to the light blue cabinet, which was re-purposed as a vanity. The gray ladder in place of a towel towel rack was a fun, and and imaginative choice. Another great example of re-purposing!

The entire layout is simple, yet somehow maintains an air of clean sophistication. I think the mirror plays a huge role in giving this impression and pulling the room together.

French painted cabinet in bathroom - at Le Barn / Rooms We Love

One day while I was re-arranging the antique furniture displayed in one of our showroom barns on the property, I stumbled upon several pieces that would simulate a similar type of bathroom design, plus a white porcelain set of pitchers and bowls that could serve as a wonderful accent (each piece of the set is signed, "Paris," on the bottom).

With a bit of patience and a lot of enthusiasm, I put together a bathroom using similar ideas as the original image posted at the beginning of this blog. A re-purposed French blue cabinet paired with a gray harvest ladder, which we found in Bordeaux, France, suddenly transformed themselves into a beautiful vanity and towel rack (the only thing left to do is cut a hole in the cabinet for the sink and plumbing).

Adding the gorgeous gold gilded mirror completed the picture and gave the room so much warmth!

We found this charming vintage American pine dresser in Vermont.

It was sitting in front of a store high in the mountains off a side road in a quaint village. The sign in front of the store read, “Antiques and Collectables.” We immediately knew that we accidentally stumbled […]
